Melbourne Museum wins top Australian Tourism Award

Museum Victoria CEO Patrick Greene said this was the first time Melbourne Museum had won the coveted Australian Tourism Award for Major Tourist Attraction. The museum won the award for Major Tourist Attraction the Victorian Tourism Awards in both 2011 and 2010.

The award recognised Melbourne Museum’s success in 2010/2011, a year during which the museum saw 1,428,238 visitors come through its doors – it’s highest-ever visitation. Of that number, an impressive 538,194 were regional, interstate and international visitors.

Tourism Awards Mentoring – Get a helping hand
Applications are now open for the 2012 Victorian Tourism Award Mentoring program. If you are a first time entrant to the tourism awards and wanting support and guidance on your submission, we are here to help! Destination Melbourne will be providing 10 businesses with the opportunity to be mentored by experienced mentor, Natalie Pickett. The program will include specialist one on one mentoring, as well as group information session and workshop program.
