Tourism Victoria and Tourism Australia have been actively focussing attention on China in recent times. This will have major implications for Melbourne and Victoria as our largest international source market exerts increasing influence on the way we do business.
The State Government’s new China Tourism strategy is positioning Melbourne and Victoria to maximise the benefits of the Chinese visitor boom.
The strategy aims to increase linkages and grow the State’s tourism industry in order to meet demand from China through to 2020.
Tourism Australia launched the latest There is Nothing Like Australia campaign in China just two weeks ago.
The refurbished campaign will appear in 25 countries, be translated into 17 languages and used by 180 Tourism Australia partners including airlines, State Tourism Organisations (STOs), travel distributors and the broader Australian industry.
