Destination Melbourne’s organisational culture is guided by the following values:

Our behaviour and decision making processes are guided by these values and also feed into our core objectives and business model of reinvesting our surpluses back into the industry.
Initiatives include:
- Melbourne Tourism Industry Leadership Program
- establishment of a Chinese version of the Official Visitor Guide to Melbourne
- support of Victoria Tourism Week
- Melbourne Tourism Industry Exchange
- Visiting Friends and Relatives Project
- hosting the annual Global Destinations Forum.
Our support of the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC), Travellers Aid, Conservation Volunteers Australia, Mission Australia, the Victorian Tourism Awards and the Young Tourism Network further strengthens our ties with industry and fosters collaboration from a variety of sectors.
While our own business operates on a pay to play model, Destination Melbourne firmly believes in the collective benefits delivered through effective membership based organisations. This is reflected in our ongoing membership of ATEC, VTIC and the Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau.
