The Victorian Major Events Company (VMEC), is a world leading event acquisition group which has created an exceptional and unrivalled calendar of international major events for Melbourne and Victoria.

VMEC was formed in 1991, as part of a Victorian Government initiative to acquire international cultural and sporting events which complement the State’s world class and state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure and provide a strong platform for Victoria’s tourism and marketing activities.
