Destination Melbourne
Destination Melbourne provides industry leadership; advocacy on behalf of the visitor experience; and cost effective marketing programs that encourage visitation, dispersal and yield.
As a not for profit company without shareholders, we are under no pressure to deliver dividends in a conventional sense, however there is an absolute commitment within the business to re-investing our surpluses in programs and activities that support the visitor experience and help the industry grow. We do this with the active support of Tourism Victoria, the City of Melbourne, our sponsors and partners.
The majority of Destination Melbourne’s revenue comes from advertising in our products and campaigns. The business is performing well in a challenging operating environment and has recently launched a new three year plan.
We inspire Melbourne by:
• Playing a pivotal role in generating visitor expenditure and dispersal
• Being the catalyst for new ways of working and thinking about providing an outstanding visitor experience
• Creating a culture that encourages government, industry and community to work together to support Melbourne’s reputation as a global, welcoming city.
Destination Melbourne actively seeks out new ways of doing things that generate social, economic and environmental prosperity for Melbourne. We embrace innovation as a core value in our business along with Integrity, Accountability Excellence and Respect. These values guide our behaviour every day. It is what you can expect when you work with Destination Melbourne.
