Traditional Media Opportunities

In 2011 Destination Melbourne embarked upon an exciting new intrastate tactical opportunity in partnership with the Herald Sun.

Each fortnight we submit a 38cmx2column tactical insertion for the Escape section of the Sunday Herald Sun allowing four hotel partners to advertise a package.

This regular presence in a state-wide publication has come from discussions with a number of accommodation providers who have indicated a desire for a frequent and affordable tactical advertising opportunity in print media.

All artwork is created by the Destination Melbourne design department at no charge and carries the Tourism Victoria brand.

In addition to our regular presence in the Sunday Herald Sun, Destination Melbourne is often approached with opportunities to promote the accommodation sector to different markets.

If we believe that they will be of benefit to the industry we contact our stakeholders for buy-in. These opportunities are often at a heavily subsidised rate and provide the industry with the opportunity to appear in channels that they would otherwise not be able to afford without the co-operative marketing dollars of other hotels.
